International Women's Day - Anaemia Free India
The International Women’s Day (March 8) is celebrated around the world to remember and celebrate women and their works for the society. This year’s theme of #PressForChange encourages women to raise voice for their rights.
While it is important to talk about women’s rights and gender equality, we all know that the ground reality in India is extremely different. With over 51% of Indian women of reproductive age suffering from Anaemia (Global Nutrition Report) 2017, it is more important that we address this serious burden while we also talk about the other issues that our women face.
I believe that awareness is the first step that anyone can take towards a cure. Because if we are aware, we will, not only be able to spot the signals our body gives out now and then, but will be able to live healthier and longer lives. And therefore I begin today an initiative to build an “Anaemia Free India”.
